ACIM Lesson 116
Review of Lessons 101 and 102
We are practicing a radical idea today:
that happiness is not something we earn, fix, or wait for.
“God’s will for me is perfect happiness.”
The mind resists this.
It has been trained to believe that happiness must be justified—
that something must improve first.
So we speak of problems.
We rehearse lack.
We dim our joy so we don’t stand out.
But the Course gently interrupts this habit.
It reminds me that unhappiness is not natural.
It is learned—built on the belief that I am separate
from God, from you, from life itself.
And from that belief, everything else follows.
Today I notice the pattern…
and choose again.
The ego says: When things change, I’ll be happy.
Spirit says: Be happy—and watch what changes.
On the hour: God’s will for me is perfect happiness.
On the half hour: I share God’s will for happiness for me.
These songs are offered as companions to the practice.
You might listen in the morning or evening,
or return to them during the day—
letting the idea settle more deeply
and accompany you.
Enter the rhythm and let the idea settle within.
Listen gently and allow the meaning to unfold in you.
May this remain with you.
