ACIM Lesson 137
When I am healed I am not healed alone.
There was a time when illness made my world feel very small.
Not only physically small, but emotionally and spiritually small too. The body became the center of attention. Symptoms became the loudest voice in the room. Fear narrowed my perception until I felt separated from life itself — separated from others, from joy, even from God.
But healing did not arrive only as improvement in the body. Healing began the moment I stopped facing my suffering alone.
Lesson 137 reminds me that healing is shared. Every loving thought, every prayer, every act of compassion ripples outward beyond what we can measure. When one person remembers peace, something in the whole begins to soften. The walls thin. The illusion of separation weakens.
I think this is why beauty, music, honesty, and tenderness matter so much. They help us remember each other.
The world teaches us to protect our pain privately and carry our burdens alone. But the Holy Spirit teaches differently. Your healing blesses me. Mine blesses you.
Perhaps none of us awaken alone.
“When I am healed, I am not healed alone.”
A Listening Practice
This chant was created as a gentle practice of remembrance.
A steady rhythm.
Shared voices.
A quiet return from isolation to joining.
You might listen while walking, resting, driving, or sitting quietly for a few moments.
There is nothing to force or figure out.
Only a willingness to let the heart soften.
“When I am healed,
I am not healed alone.”
May this be a gentle remembering.
