ACIM Lesson 145

Review of Lessons 129 and 130

Beyond this world, there is a world I want.

That line can sound distant at first, as if A Course in Miracles is asking us to escape the world we live in. But the Workbook is pointing toward something much more intimate than escape. It is speaking about perception.

The outer circumstances may remain exactly the same. The coffee shop is still the coffee shop. The traffic still moves slowly. The email still arrives. The diagnosis still exists. The relationship still asks something of us. Yet within the same moment, we can inhabit an entirely different world depending on the thoughts we choose to hold.

One world is built from judgment, fear, impatience, and control. In that world, everything feels urgent, personal, and threatening. Even small moments tighten the nervous system and pull us into separation.

But beyond that world is another.

A world where the people in front of us are no longer obstacles, but fellow travelers. A world where we remember that everyone carries invisible burdens, longings, and hopes. A world where peace becomes more valuable than being right.

The Course reminds us that we cannot see both worlds at once. Attack thoughts hide peace. Loving thoughts reveal it.

And so today becomes a gentle practice in choosing again.

Not by changing the world outside us—
but by allowing the mind to return to what it thinks with God.

A Listening Practice

You might return to the songs that accompany these lessons—
not to understand them,
but to remember…
to let the truth be felt again.
