ACIM Lesson 226
My home awaits me. I will hasten there.
How much of our lives do we spend looking to the world for something that will finally make us whole?
We search, achieve, acquire, hope—and sometimes watch our carefully held dreams fall apart. Today's lesson doesn't ask me to abandon the world. It asks me to stop expecting the world to be my Home.
Home is something I can return to now. A change of mind. A holy instant. A remembering of who I am and where my peace comes from.
And perhaps when I stop asking the world to give me what it cannot give, I become freer to love it.
I come Home first.
Then I bring what I find there with me.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
