ACIM Lesson 312
I see all things as I would have them be.
This lesson reminds me that I do not simply look at the world—I look through the lens of what I have already decided. Perception follows judgment. Before I even realize it, I may have assigned meaning to a silence, a look, a delay, or a word, and then called my interpretation reality.
That realization can feel humbling. It asks me to take responsibility not for everything that happens, but for the way I am seeing it.
And yet the lesson is not harsh. It is freeing.
If I have helped make the world heavy with judgment, then I am not powerless. I can choose again. I can pause before my conclusions harden. I can leave room for another meaning, another reading, another presence. What I thought was rejection may be someone else’s pain. What I thought was indifference may be a call for love. What I thought was fixed may be softened by willingness.
“I have no purpose for today except to look upon a liberated world.”
The world is liberated as my judgments are released. And as I let the world be free, something in me is freed as well.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
