ACIM Lesson 73
I will there be light.
Some days the world seems to offer endless reasons to close our hearts.
A harsh word.
A misunderstanding.
A memory we replay long after the moment has passed.
Grievances quietly gather, and before we notice, the mind begins to darken. The world we see starts to reflect that darkness back to us.
Today’s practice offers a simple but powerful decision:
I will there be light.
Not because the world is perfect.
Not because difficult things never happen.
But because we remember that darkness is not our deepest truth.
When we pause and release the grievances we are holding, even for a moment, something gentle begins to return. The mind softens. The heart opens. The world looks different.
Light, in this sense, is understanding.
It is the quiet recognition that beneath the surface of every story, every conflict, every misunderstanding, we share the same source.
And when we remember this, even briefly, the light we choose within begins to shine everywhere.
A Listening Practice
If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.
One musical reflections accompanies this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.
A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.
You might listen
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.
There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
