Uplift with HeART Update

As a nature photographer who loves capturing the delicate beauty of flowers, I've found a unique way to share my passion with others. In recent years, I've donated some of my work to adorn the walls of offices and waiting rooms for mental health and medical professionals in the area. Through this project, I aim to make spaces brighter with art and bring nature indoors to uplift the spirits of those who visit these spaces.

I was delighted to have been asked by Meagan Banai at the Highland Center in May 2023 to brighten the entry hallway. So far, I created two large digital murals for them.

Here I’m with Meagan after installing the first mural called, “Imaginary Garden” back in June of 2023. This is a digital vinyl canvas adhered to 7’ x 5’ metal panel. They were just as exciting to receive it as I was to give it!

Later in October came the second large mural, "Little Wonders Garden." I was happy to explain how I made it to the folks at the Highland Center when my husband, Larry, and I installed it. They were enthralled. It gave me great joy to have my work hang where people can enjoy it!

The "Little Wonders Garden" invites viewers to find the many creatures in the image. Some are easy, like the black cat or peacock. Others are more challenging, like the bunny in the azaleas or the blue jay high in the live oak branch.

I’ve promised them one more piece to hang adjacent to the last. I plan to finish it in May this year after photographing the American Rose Garden in full bloom.
