Beautiful Sky

by Deana Cheshier

The sudden death of my sister, Denise came as quite a shock. My mother and I were on a trip to Texas. I was driving and had noticed how beautifully blue the sky was that day. I can still see it. Looking at that sky one would believe that nothing bad could have happened. ~ Deana

I noticed the sky, it’s magnificent hue.
I did not know why God perfected its blue.

But soon I would learn why the sky shone so bright.
You had gone home. God was holding you tight.

The heavens rejoiced, but left me to cry.
Under this wondrous and beautiful sky.

How could I look at its beauty the same?
For now, it echoes the sound of your name.

I will let you go and look to the sky.
And feel God’s grace and always know why.
