ACIM Lesson 132
I loose the world from all I thought it was.
There are moments when A Course in Miracles stops feeling like philosophy and starts feeling like a doorway.
Lesson 132 is one of those moments.
“I loose the world from all I thought it was.”
At first, the words can feel impossible. How could the world not be what I think it is? The pain feels real. The fear feels real. The separation feels real.
But slowly, the lesson begins to soften something deeper. It invites us to notice how much of our suffering comes not only from what happens, but from the meaning we continuously place upon it.
The Course teaches that the world mirrors the thought system we carry within us. And if fear shaped our perception, then love can reshape it too.
That does not mean denying the human experience. It means remembering there is something deeper than the fearful interpretations of the mind.
Every time we choose forgiveness over judgment…
Presence over projection…
Love over fear…
we loosen the grip of the world we thought we were trapped inside.
Perhaps freedom begins there.
Not in escaping the world,
but in seeing through it with gentler eyes.
A Listening Practice
If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.
Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.
A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.
A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.
You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.
There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
May this be a gentle remembering.
