ACIM Lesson 186
Salvation of the world depends on me.
This lesson sounds enormous until we hear it with the heart instead of the ego.
The ego hears responsibility. The Holy Spirit speaks of willingness.
We are not being asked to carry the weight of the world. We are simply being invited to accept the small but holy part already given to us. We don't invent our function; we receive it. We don't have to know its form. We only have to be available.
Real humility isn't thinking less of ourselves. It is no longer arguing with God's assessment of who we are. If God knows us as loving, wise, and wholly capable of extending forgiveness, then our task is simply to stop insisting otherwise.
Every time we choose forgiveness instead of judgment, peace instead of fear, we participate in the healing of the whole. We may never see all the ripples our willingness creates, but Heaven does.
Today I don't need to know the entire plan. I only need to remember who I am and quietly say yes to the next loving step.
A Listening Practice
If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.
Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.
A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.
A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.
You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.
There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
