ACIM Lesson 239
The glory of my Father is my own.
False humility tells us that recognizing the light within us is prideful. Yet the glory spoken of in this lesson is not something we achieved or something that belongs to us alone. It is God’s own light, freely shared with His Son. Denying that light does not make us humble. It only keeps the truth about us hidden.
We have become so accustomed to judgment and blame that innocence can be difficult to receive. We may find it easier to believe that something is wrong with us than to accept that we remain as God created us. Today we are not being asked to make ourselves worthy. We are being asked to stop arguing with the Love that has always known our worth.
As we honor the light within ourselves, we begin to recognize that same light in everyone. Allowing our light to be seen does not place us above another. It can help another person remember the light within them. God’s glory cannot belong to one of us and not another. We are united in it, at peace with creation and at peace within ourselves.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
