ACIM Lesson 244
I am in danger nowhere in the world.
Some days, the words “I am in danger nowhere in the world” can feel far removed from our experience. Fear may fill the mind. Fatigue may make our thoughts seem especially convincing. Unhappiness may even appear to contradict the lesson. Yet the lesson does not require us to deny what we feel or force ourselves into a sense of safety we cannot presently find.
A storm can move through the mind without becoming our home. Even while we are afraid, God has not withdrawn His presence. Even while we feel lost, we have not left His care. Sometimes the return begins quietly: one small step, one thing accomplished, one moment in which we recognize that the thoughts we believed were not the whole truth.
“I am in danger nowhere in the world” then becomes more than a statement we are trying to believe. It becomes a prayer of remembrance. Our safety does not depend upon our ability to feel it at every moment. Our safety and God’s Love are one. Wherever we may be, and whatever may be passing through the mind, He is there with us.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Devotional Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
