ACIM Lesson 245
Your peace is with me, Father. I am safe.
Today’s lesson is an affirmation, but it is not an attempt to persuade myself that nothing difficult will happen. “Your peace is with me, Father. I am safe” declares a safety deeper than circumstances. I do not create this peace or carry it through my own effort. It surrounds me and goes wherever I go.
Yet this peace is not given to become a private refuge. It is meant to reach the lonely, the grieving and the afraid. Sometimes it is expressed through forgiveness, a tender word or simply the way I remain present with someone. I do not have to rescue anyone or know exactly what to say. I need only allow the peace already given to me to move through the way I meet them.
As I give this peace, I recognize that it is truly mine.
Your peace is with me, Father. I am safe.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
