ACIM Lesson 248
Whatever suffers is not part of me.
This lesson does not ask me to deny my tears or judge myself for suffering. Sorrow can move through my mind and body, and it deserves tenderness. But it does not have the power to define me or alter the Self God created. I can honor what I am experiencing without mistaking it for the deepest truth about me.
Sometimes truth must be spoken while I am still crying. I do not have to rush from crucifixion to resurrection or use spiritual truth against my own heart. I can let Love remain beside me in the pain, quietly reminding me that what changes, separates, or passes away cannot undo what God created whole.
Beneath every passing story, my ancient Love remains. As I remember God’s Love, I begin to remember my own—not as something separate, but as the same Love, forever joined and untouched.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
