ACIM Lesson 247
Without forgiveness I will still be blind.
Without forgiveness, I do not really see.
I may think I am seeing another person clearly when I remember what they did, what I believe they meant, or how I think they failed. But the lesson asks me to look beyond all of that. It asks me to see the innocence that judgment hides.
And there is something deeply personal in this. When I refuse to see another only through the past, I am not merely setting them free. I am allowing myself to remember who I am as well.
Today, I can practice looking again.
Not denying what happened. Not pretending that hurt never occurred. Simply allowing there to be more to another person than the story I have made about them.
Their loveliness reflects my own.
