The world continually invites us to construct an identity—to measure ourselves by what we accomplish, how others see us, or whether we appear good enough. Beneath that effort lies the forgotten belief that we somehow made ourselves and must now prove our worth.

Today’s lesson releases us from that burden.

God created us, and what God created remains forever within its Source. Our true Self has not been damaged by criticism, diminished by failure, or changed by anything we have believed about ourselves. We do not need to make ourselves holy. We need only remember the holiness that was given us in our creation.

“Let me remember” is a prayer for those moments when another voice seems more convincing—the voice of guilt, inadequacy, fear, or self-judgment. Rather than argue with that voice, we can return quietly to the truth: God created me. Therefore, I remain as God created me.

And as we remember our own innocence, Christ’s vision allows us to recognize the same innocence in one another. We share one Source, one holiness, and one true Identity.

Today, I do not have to establish who I am.
