Let me remember that there is no sin.
To believe in sin is not merely to believe that people sometimes behave destructively. It is to believe that what someone has done has changed what they are—that guilt has replaced innocence and punishment is now required.
The Course asks us to see differently. A loveless act can cause pain and require an honest response, correction, consequences, or firm boundaries. But it cannot overturn what God created. Beneath the frightened and mistaken behavior, the person’s deepest identity remains innocent.
Forgiveness does not deny what happened. It refuses to make the error eternal.
Today I can look upon another—and upon myself—without confusing a mistake with an identity. What calls for punishment in the ego’s eyes becomes, in the sight of love, a call for healing.
Let me remember that there is no sin.
