ACIM Lesson 268
Let all things be exactly as they are.
How often do I meet the day with a quiet list of corrections? This should be different. That person should understand. I should be further along.
Today’s lesson invites me to loosen my grip and become willing to see with love.
I notice how quickly my expectations become judgments—about a situation, another person, or myself. Before I have truly listened, I have already decided what needs to change. What might I discover if I paused long enough to leave room for grace?
Acceptance leaves room for care, boundaries, and whatever action love may ask of me. As I release the demand that everything conform to my plans, I can listen more closely and respond with greater tenderness.
The prayer beneath this song is simple: “Let me see with You. Let me rest my heart.” Beneath my judgments and the stories I place upon others, the Course invites me to recognize the love in which we were created—a love our changing circumstances cannot undo.
Today, I can bring my questions without needing to settle them all. I can pause, soften, and allow myself to be held.
In love was I created. In love I will remain.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
