When a relationship becomes tangled, the mind often begins its familiar work: reviewing what was said, deciding who was wrong, wondering what we should have done differently. We can spend hours inside a conversation that has already ended.

Today’s lesson invites us to pause and ask for a blessing on our sight.

To look upon Christ’s face is to recognize the holiness that our judgments cannot reveal and our mistakes cannot erase. Beneath the defensiveness, beneath the hurt, there is someone whose deepest identity remains rooted in God. This is true of the person before us. It is also true of ourselves.

We may still need an honest conversation, a clear boundary, or time to understand what happened. We can allow love to guide those responses. We do not have to resolve every detail before becoming willing to see differently.

Perhaps our practice today begins with one person who comes to mind. We notice the story we have been carrying and gently offer it to the Holy Spirit.

Help me see this person through Your love. Help me receive that same mercy.

A world forgiven begins in these small moments of willingness, when we let love have another word.
