Each day, each hour, each moment, we give our attention to something. We listen to certain voices, revisit familiar stories, and gather evidence for what we believe. Today’s lesson invites us to notice what we are allowing to shape our sight.

Christ’s vision begins with the remembrance of who we are. Beneath our separate histories and changing circumstances, we share a Self that has never left the love of God. That belonging remains, even when we cannot feel it.

To see with Christ is to become willing to recognize that same belonging in another. We can acknowledge what hurts while allowing mercy to soften the conclusions we draw. A person is more than the moment in which we meet them. So are we.

We can bring the Holy Spirit our grievances, our confusion, and the judgments we have turned upon ourselves. We do not have to untangle everything before asking for help.

Today’s folk prayer carries this willingness in a simple, steady rhythm: let me hear Your Voice; let me recognize the love we share. As forgiveness makes room in our perception, the world becomes a place where we can remember God together.

Father, let Christ’s vision guide my seeing today.
