ACIM Lesson 282

I will not be afraid of love today.

What if our deepest fear is not that we are too small, but that we are far greater than we have ever imagined?

Years ago, Marianne Williamson's words in A Return to Love awakened something in me. Her suggestion that we might actually fear our own light stirred a recognition I couldn't explain. Something within me knew there was truth in it.

Today's lesson brings me back to that moment.

We spend so much of our lives defining ourselves by our limitations, our mistakes, and the stories we've gathered about who we are. We become comfortable with a smaller identity, even when something deeper calls us beyond it.

But A Course in Miracles reminds us that Love is not merely something we seek or hope to deserve. Love is our very nature.

“Father, Your Name is Love, and so is mine.”

What an extraordinary invitation—to stop hiding from the light within us, not because we have accomplished something remarkable, but because we were created in Love.

And as we recognize that light in ourselves, we begin to recognize it in everyone.

Today, perhaps courage is simply our willingness to believe what some quiet part of us has always known.

We are not separate from Love. We are its expression.

A Listening Practice

Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.

Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.

When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.

Rest with the lesson.

Listen.
