ACIM Lesson 286

The hush of Heaven holds my heart today.

There is a tenderness within us that the world cannot take away. It is the innocence we recognize so easily in a child, yet so often forget to extend to ourselves.

Today's lesson invites us to return to that gentleness. Not by withdrawing from life or trying harder to become peaceful, but by remembering that peace has already been given.

"There is no need that I do anything."

How unfamiliar those words can feel in a world that continually asks us to accomplish, improve, and become something more. Yet the Course reminds us that what we seek is not waiting somewhere beyond this moment. In God, every conflict is already resolved, every need already answered, every gift already given.

The hush of heaven is not necessarily the absence of activity or sound. It is the quiet beneath it all, the stillness that remains even as life continues around us.

As we remember this peace within ourselves, we may begin to carry a different presence into the world. A softer gaze. A gentler response. A willingness to let things be.

Today, we need not earn our rest or prove our worthiness.

We can simply allow ourselves to be held.

The hush of heaven holds my heart today.

A Listening Practice

Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.

Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.

When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.

Rest with the lesson.

Listen.
