ACIM Lesson 287

You are my goal, my Father. Only You.

There is a longing within us that nothing in this world can fully satisfy. We may spend years searching for its fulfillment in relationships, accomplishments, experiences, or the circumstances of our lives. Yet even when these bring happiness, something deeper continues to call.

Today's lesson invites us to recognize the source of that longing. What we have been seeking all along is God.

"You are my goal, my Father. Only You."

These words are not a rejection of the world or the people we love. They are an invitation to remember where love comes from. When we turn toward our Source, we begin to recognize that the peace we have sought outside ourselves has never been absent.

Our wandering minds may lead us down countless paths, but we need not condemn ourselves for having wandered. We can simply choose again.

Perhaps the most beautiful realization is that we do not have to travel anywhere to reach God. We do not have to become more worthy, more spiritual, or more complete.

We need only grow quiet enough to remember the Love that has always held us.

And in that remembering, our longing becomes peace.

A Listening Practice

Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.

Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.

When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.

Rest with the lesson.

Listen.
