ACIM Lesson 292
A happy outcome to all things is sure.
How do we trust that a happy outcome is certain when so much in the world seems uncertain?
There are days when the suffering around us makes this lesson difficult to embrace. We see conflict, division, illness, and loss. We wonder how God's promise of happiness can possibly be fulfilled when appearances suggest otherwise.
Yet A Course in Miracles does not ask us to pretend that we understand everything we see. It invites us to question whether our understanding is complete.
Perhaps our difficulty lies in believing that we know what a happy ending must look like. We hold tightly to the outcomes we desire, forgetting that God's vision extends beyond what we can presently imagine.
Today's lesson offers a gentle invitation to release that need to know.
We can acknowledge the suffering we witness without allowing fear to become our final authority. We can respond with compassion while remembering that love remains present, even when we cannot recognize its purpose.
We need not manufacture certainty or deny our questions. We can simply become willing to trust.
There is love beyond our knowing. There is peace beyond our fear.
And perhaps, as we loosen our hold on how things must unfold, we begin to recognize the happiness God has promised.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
