ACIM Lesson 296
The Holy Spirit speaks through me today.
There is a quiet but profound shift in today's lesson. We are no longer asking the Holy Spirit to speak through us. We are recognizing that He already does.
This is not a promise of something we might become someday. It is an affirmation of what is true now.
The Holy Spirit speaks through our words, but also through our willingness to listen. Through a kindness offered without expectation, a judgment released, a hand extended, or a moment of compassion when we might otherwise turn away.
We need not do anything extraordinary to become instruments of love. Our ordinary encounters become opportunities to remember who we are and to recognize that same holiness in one another.
And there is a beautiful reciprocity in this lesson: “We teach today what we would learn.” Every time we extend peace, we strengthen our own awareness of it. Every time we recognize the Christ in another, we remember the Christ within ourselves.
The Holy Spirit speaks through us today. Not because we have finally become worthy, but because love has never been absent from what we truly are.
Our part is to recognize it, trust it, and let it be expressed.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
