ACIM Lesson 301

And God Himself shall wipe away all tears.

There is something profoundly reassuring in today's lesson: “And God Himself shall wipe away all tears.”

Yet the Course invites us to consider where those tears come from. We suffer not simply because of what we see, but because of the judgments we bring to what we see. We look upon the world through the stories of separation, loss, and fear that we have made, forgetting that another way of seeing is available.

“Let me see Your world instead of mine.”

What a beautiful prayer of willingness.

We are not asked to pretend that human sorrow doesn't exist or to force ourselves into happiness. We are invited to release our condemnation and allow forgiveness to restore our vision.

And then come those remarkable words: “Let me behold it uncondemned, through happy eyes.”

Happy eyes. Not because every circumstance has changed, but because we are no longer looking through the same fearful lens.

Perhaps the miracle is not that God reaches down to take away our tears, but that we awaken to the Love that has never left us.

Today, may we look upon one another with those happy eyes, adding our joy to the world we see.

A Listening Practice

Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.

Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.

When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.

Rest with the lesson.

Listen.
