ACIM Lesson 309
I will not fear to look within today.
There is something unsettling about the unknown. We are accustomed to finding our way through understanding, planning, and relying on what is familiar. Yet the deeper invitation of this lesson is to release our need to know what lies ahead—or even what we might discover within ourselves.
We may hesitate to look within because we fear encountering something we would rather not see. Our judgments, regrets, and old stories can seem so convincing that we mistake them for who we are.
But A Course in Miracles offers a different possibility.
Beneath everything we have believed about ourselves is an innocence that has never been altered. No thought, experience, or mistaken identity has changed what God created.
Perhaps trusting the unknown is not about finding something new. Perhaps it is about becoming willing to discover what has always been there.
We do not have to force an experience, resolve every question, or understand how remembrance will come.
We can simply become still enough to look.
And in that quiet willingness, we may discover that what we feared to encounter was never the truth of us.
Within us, the altar remains serene.
Love has never left.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
