ACIM Lesson 61

I am the light of the world.

It sounds impossible at first.

Almost embarrassing to say out loud.

I am the light of the world.

The ego hears arrogance.

The Course calls it humility.

To shrink is not holy.
To pretend we are small is not modest.

If Love created us, then denying our light is simply denying our Source.

True humility is accepting what is true — nothing added, nothing reduced.

Light, in the Course, means understanding.

It means I do not have to interpret this moment through fear.

I can choose again.

I can see differently.

When one mind loosens its grip on judgment, all minds are helped.

We are not separate lamps competing for brightness.

We are one light remembering itself.

Today I practice gently:

I am the light of the world.
That is my only function.
That is why I am here.

Not to shine over anyone —

but to remember with them.

A Listening Practice

If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.

Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.

A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.

A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.

You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.

There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
