ACIM Lesson 62

Forgiveness is my function as the light of the world.

Forgiveness is not weakness.

It is function.

When I attack — even silently in my thoughts — I call upon my own smallness.

I tighten.
I strain.
I grow tired.

But when I forgive, something opens.

The mind softens.
The body relaxes.
A deeper strength rises.

Forgiveness is not pretending harm did not occur.

It is remembering that love is more real than fear.

It is stepping out of the illusion of guilt and back into identity.

There is only one lasting happiness:

to remember who we are and why we are here.

We are here to be light.

And light does not fight darkness.

It shines.

Each time I forgive, I return to myself.

Each time I forgive, I remember.

Each time I forgive, I am free.

A Listening Practice

If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.

Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.

A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.

A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.

You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.

There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
