ACIM Lesson 64
Let me not forget my function.
Some mornings I wake up already entangled in the world.
The mind begins sorting problems, responsibilities, conversations, news, expectations.
It feels as if life has become complicated before the day has even begun.
But A Course in Miracles gently brings the mind back to something simple.
There is really only one decision to make.
Not a thousand small decisions about circumstances, but one quiet choice about how I will see.
Will I judge?
Or will I forgive?
The Course calls forgiveness my function — not as a burden, but as the path to happiness.
When I forgive, I stop demanding that the world prove my worth.
I remember that my value was established by God long before any achievement, role, or recognition.
Nothing the world gives or withholds can change that.
Today I pause and remember:
Let me not forget my function.
And in that remembering, peace quietly returns.
A Listening Practice
If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.
Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.
A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.
A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.
You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.
There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
