ACIM Lesson 71
Only God’s plan for salvation will work.
Today’s lesson from A Course in Miracles offers a quiet but radical shift:
Only God’s plan for salvation will work.
The ego’s plan says my peace depends on something outside me changing —
a person behaving differently,
a situation unfolding another way,
a future arriving just as I imagine it.
But the Course gently exposes this pattern.
Every grievance carries the same message: “If this were different, I would be okay.”
God’s plan asks something entirely different.
Instead of trying to control outcomes, I pause and listen.
Where would You have me go?
What would You have me do?
What would You have me say, and to whom?
Like a flower opening according to a hidden design, life already carries a deeper intelligence.
When I release my small plans and trust that larger unfolding, something unexpected happens.
Peace arrives first.
And from that peace, the next step quietly appears.
A Listening Practice
If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.
Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.
A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.
A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.
You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.
There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
