ACIM Lesson 162
I am as God created me.
Some lessons in A Course in Miracles feel like invitations. This one feels like a homecoming.
I am as God created me.
Over the years I have made mistakes. I've said things I wish I hadn't said. I've hurt people. I've experienced embarrassment, regret, and moments when I wished I could rewrite parts of my story.
This lesson reminds me that none of those moments define who I am.
The Course is not asking me to deny my mistakes. It is asking me to remember that mistakes cannot alter the truth.
Beneath every fearful reaction, every judgment, every moment of forgetting, there remains something untouched. Something whole. Something created by God and therefore incapable of being damaged.
That realization changes everything.
Self-forgiveness becomes possible.
Forgiveness of others becomes possible.
Healing becomes possible.
Not because what happened didn't happen, but because what happened never had the power to change what is eternally true.
Today I am grateful for this simple declaration. It feels less like a spiritual practice and more like a remembering.
I am as God created me.
And so are you.
A Listening Practice
If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.
Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.
A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.
A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.
You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.
There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
