ACIM Lesson 184

The Name of God in my inheritance.

Every day we answer to countless names.

Some were given to us. Others we created ourselves. Artist. Parent. Patient. Successful. Broken. Strong. Afraid.

These names help us navigate the world, but they are not who we are.

Lesson 184 gently invites us beneath every label to the one Identity God created. It reminds us that while the world divides everything into separate names and separate lives, God's vision knows only unity. Beneath every story, every role, and every body is the same holy Life.

Today we don't have to reject the world's symbols. We simply hold them more lightly.

For a few quiet moments, we step beyond the names we've collected and remember the one Name that cannot be spoken but can be known in silence—the inheritance we have shared with all creation from the beginning.

Perhaps that's enough for today: not to become someone new, but to remember who has always been here.

A Listening Practice

If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.

One musical reflection accompanies this lesson.
A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.

You might listen …
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.

There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
