ACIM Lesson 229
Love, which created me, is what I am.
There is something wonderfully relieving in the thought that my true Identity does not depend upon how well I have lived, the mistakes I have made, or even what I believe about myself today. Love created me, and what Love created has remained safe.
I may have forgotten. I may have judged myself and others. I may have worn countless identities and believed each one for a while. But none of them changed what I am.
Today I need not become more loving in order to earn my way back to God. I am invited simply to turn toward what has been quietly waiting for me all along.
Love has prevailed.
Perhaps that is what coming home means: not finally becoming who I was supposed to be, but discovering that the Self God created was never lost.
Love, which created me, is what I am.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
