ACIM Lesson 230

Now will I seek and find the peace of God.

How often I have imagined that peace was waiting on the other side of something—when circumstances changed, when a problem was resolved, when I finally became different.

Today’s lesson turns me gently in another direction. I am not being asked to create peace, earn it, or arrange my life so perfectly that peace can finally enter. I am being asked to remember what was given at my creation.

“In peace I was created, and in peace do I remain.”

There is something deeply merciful in that. Beneath everything I think has changed me, there remains something untouched. The peace of God has not disappeared. It has not been damaged by anything I have done or anything that has happened to me.

Today I need not become anything.

I need only ask to remember what I already am.

A Listening Practice

Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.

Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.

When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.

Rest with the lesson.

Listen.
