ACIM Lesson 241

This holy instant is salvation come.

The world can seem so solid and convincing. Its conflicts, bodies, losses, and fears appear to tell us what is real. Yet the Course says that what we see is shaped by the purpose we have given perception. When the mind believes in separation, our eyes and ears gather evidence that separation is true. But perception can be redirected. The same world can become a classroom of forgiveness when we allow the Holy Spirit to show us another way of seeing.

The holy instant is how we practice this. When fear begins telling me that what I see is all there is, I can pause and go within. I do not have to solve the world from inside the fearful thought system that made it. I can say, “This holy instant is salvation come,” and become willing to let the Holy Spirit reinterpret what appears before me.

We did not truly leave God, nor did we truly separate from one another. As I forgive, I release both of us from the story that says we are separate. For one holy instant, sanity returns. I remember that we are still at home in God—and that is the quiet joy we celebrate today.

A Listening Practice

Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.

Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.

When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.

Rest with the lesson.

Listen.
