ACIM Lesson 251

I am in need of nothing but the truth.

Today’s lesson brings me back to the simplest truth beneath all the things I think I need.

I often look to circumstances, other people, my body, or my own understanding to give me peace. When any of these feel uncertain, the mind quickly creates a story about what the uncertainty means. The story can become so convincing that I mistake it for reality.

Yet the Course is not asking me to deny what I am experiencing or to neglect the needs of the body. It is asking me not to let those experiences define the whole truth about me. I can care for the body, listen to its messages, and receive the help it needs without believing that its condition determines who I am.

The truth is quieter than fear. It does not argue with the illusion or punish me for believing it. It simply remains—unchanged beneath everything I have imagined.

When I am anxious or overwhelmed, perhaps I do not need to find every answer. I can pause and ask, “Holy Spirit, show me what is true here.”

What is true is that love has not left. Innocence has not been destroyed. God’s creation has not been changed by anything I have feared, believed, or perceived.

I am in need of nothing but the truth. And the truth is already here.

A Listening Practice

Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.

Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.

When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.

Rest with the lesson.

Listen.
