ACIM Lesson 255
This day I choose to spend in perfect peace.
Perfect peace does not mean that nothing difficult will happen today. It does not require me to control every circumstance—or even every reaction. It means that beneath whatever arises, the peace of God remains within me, unchanged and available.
Today I choose where my mind will dwell. When I am tempted to react from fear, judgment, or strain, I can pause and choose again. I can offer forgiveness instead of attack, kindness instead of defense, and calm instead of urgency.
Peace is not something I must manufacture. It was given to me by God and has never left my mind. My practice today is simply to return to it—and, by returning, extend it to everyone I meet.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
