ACIM Lesson 276
The Word of God is give me to speak.
I did not create myself. I do not have to decide who I am.
There is something deeply restful in that.
I was created in Love, and beneath all the identities I have gathered, all the judgments I have made, and all the stories I have told about myself, that remains unchanged. I am still as God created me.
But today’s lesson does not stop with remembering this for myself.
“The Word of God is given me to speak.”
Perhaps I speak that Word whenever another person leaves my presence a little more aware of their own goodness. Whenever I choose kindness instead of judgment. Whenever I look beyond someone’s behavior and remember the holiness that has not been lost.
I do not need eloquent words. I may not need words at all.
I can speak God’s Word in the way I listen, the way I look at someone, the patience I offer, the space I make, the blessing I silently extend.
Today I can let my life say:
You are loved.
You are holy.
You belong to God.
You are home.
And perhaps in reminding my brother who he is, I remember again who I am.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
