ACIM Lesson 277
Let me not bind Your Son with laws I made.
How many laws have I made without realizing it?
I decide what is possible and what is not. I define another by what they have done, by their history, their body, their limitations, or the story I have created about them. And then I do the same to myself.
Today’s lesson asks me to loosen my hold on all of it.
God’s Son is not defined by the laws I have made. He is not his past. He is not his body. He is not the judgments I have placed upon him. Beneath everything that appears changeable remains what God created—whole, loved, and free.
And there is something beautiful hidden within this prayer: I cannot truly free my brother without also freeing myself.
Each judgment I release loosens something in me. Each limitation I refuse to place upon another becomes a limitation I no longer need to carry. I do not have to manufacture freedom or earn it.
I can simply stop insisting upon the chains.
Today I ask to see beyond the laws I have made and remember the only law that is eternally true:
The law of Love.
My brother is free.
And I am free with him.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
