ACIM Lesson 299
Eternal holiness abides in me.
There is something extraordinary about arriving at this lesson after all the practice that has brought us here. We have questioned our judgments, looked at our fears, practiced forgiveness, and asked to see through the eyes of love. And now we are reminded of something wonderfully simple: our holiness has never changed.
We did not create our holiness, and therefore we cannot destroy it. No mistake, no unloving thought, no painful experience has the power to alter what God created. We may forget the light within us, but forgetting does not extinguish it.
What a relief to recognize that there is nothing we must accomplish to become worthy of God's Love. We already are as He created us.
And this truth cannot belong to us alone. The same eternal holiness abides in every brother and sister, even when appearances suggest otherwise. As we recognize the light within ourselves, we become more willing to recognize it in one another.
Perhaps today's practice is simply to stop questioning our worthiness and allow ourselves to rest in what has always been true.
Eternal holiness abides in me. Untouched. Unchanged. Forever.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
