ACIM Lesson 303
The holy Christ is born in me today.
There is something profoundly tender about today's lesson. We are invited to become still, to quiet the sounds of the world, and to welcome the Holy Christ within us.
Yet Christ is not arriving from somewhere else. The Self God created has never departed. What is born today is our willingness to recognize and receive what has always been ours.
I love the image of the heart becoming a manger, a humble place of welcome. We do not need to prepare ourselves by becoming more worthy, more spiritual, or more perfect. We need only make room in our awareness for the Love that is already present.
And perhaps this is what it means for Christ to be born in us today. Not a single miraculous event, but a continuing invitation to let Love find expression through our lives. In the way we look upon another, in the judgments we release, in the compassion we extend, we allow our true Self to become visible.
The lesson also reminds us that Christ cannot be crucified. Whatever happens in this changing world, our eternal innocence remains untouched.
Today, I can be still. I can welcome Christ where He has always been at home.
And I can let that welcome become the way I live.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
