ACIM Lesson 305
There is a peace that Christ bestows on us.
There is a peace that does not depend on the world becoming quiet.
It does not require circumstances to change, relationships to resolve, or every troubling thought to disappear. It is not something I must achieve through effort or earn through spiritual practice. It is a gift already given, waiting for my willingness to receive it.
Today's lesson reminds me that the peace of Christ has no counterpart in the world. It is not the temporary relief I feel when things go my way. It is something deeper, something changeless beneath the movement of everyday life.
And yet, how easily I judge my own experience. I notice fear, distraction, or impatience and imagine I have somehow lost my peace.
Perhaps the invitation is simpler than I make it.
I can notice what is happening without making it a measure of my spiritual progress. I can allow the world to move around me while remembering that Love remains undisturbed within me.
And when I look upon another, I can remember that this same peace belongs to them.
Today, I need not manufacture peace.
I need only become willing to receive what has never been withheld.
A Listening Practice
Before entering the silence, you may wish to listen to today’s Prayer Song.
Let the words and music be with you for a while. There is nothing to understand and nothing you need to accomplish.
When the music ends, allow the quiet to remain.
Rest with the lesson.
Listen.
