ACIM Lesson 66

My happiness and my function are one.

Somewhere along the way many of us learned a quiet assumption about the spiritual life:

that doing what God asks of us might mean giving up our happiness.

A Course in Miracles turns that idea upside down.

Lesson 66 offers a simple but radical reminder:

My happiness and my function are one.

If God gives only love, then the purpose given to us by God cannot lead to suffering.

Our true function must carry the same nature as its source.

It must lead to happiness.

When I look honestly at my own life, the moments that felt most alive were not moments of achievement or control.

They were moments of love, connection, and creative flow — times when something deeper seemed to move through me.

The Course calls that alignment with our function.

Perhaps happiness is not something we chase after all.

Perhaps it is what naturally appears when we remember what we are here to give.

A Listening Practice

If it feels natural, you might let this idea continue beyond the words.

Two musical reflections accompany this lesson—
each offering a different way of entering the same truth.

A grounded chant, steady and spacious,
like a quiet return within.

A devotional song,
carrying the feeling of being held in what has never changed.

You might listen to one… or both…
not to understand,
but to let the truth be felt.

There is nothing to achieve here.
Only a willingness to rest…
and allow the remembrance to deepen.
